The short version
Two small values are stored whatever you decide: one remembers that you answered the age question, the other remembers your answer to the cookie tray. Everything else — analytics, advertising measurement — sits in a denied state until you say yes, and never loads if you say no.
What we mean by a cookie
Loosely, as the tray does: both classic cookies and the local storage values that browsers offer to a page. Our own two values use local storage rather than cookies, which means they live on your device and are not attached to any request sent to our server. We cannot read them from our end.
Essential storage
- br_age_confirmed — records which answer you gave to the age question, so the check does not reappear on every page you open. Stays until you clear the storage for this site.
- br_consent_choice — records whether you allowed all cookies or only the essential ones. Without it, the tray would have to ask again on every visit. Stays until you clear the storage for this site.
Neither of these can be switched off, because without them the site cannot honour a choice you have already made. Neither contains a name, an email address, a document number or anything else that identifies you.
Analytics, only after consent
- Google Analytics 4 (_ga and _ga_<id>) — counts visitors, sessions and which pages get read to the end, so we can tell whether the site answers the questions people arrive with. Typically expires two years after the last visit.
Advertising measurement, only after consent
- Google Ads (_gcl_au and related _gcl_ values) — connects a click on one of our advertisements to whatever happened next: a look through the room pages, or an email to reception. Typically expires after ninety days.
Both tags run under Google Consent Mode v2. The page head sets ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage to denied before a tag can execute, and only your answer in the tray changes that. Choosing Essential only leaves all four denied for good.
Changing your mind
Open at the bottom of any page and answer again. The new answer replaces the old one straight away and takes effect without a reload. Clearing this site’s storage in your browser also resets both values, which means the age question will come back as well.
Blocking cookies in your browser
Every current browser can block or delete cookies and site storage, usually under a heading like Privacy, Content settings or Site data. Blocking everything will not break these pages: the layout, the room descriptions and the casino hours all still work. What you will notice is the age question and the cookie tray appearing on each visit, because the site then has nowhere to remember your answers.
Things you will not find in here
There is no pixel from any social network on these pages. No advertising networks other than Google. No cross-site profiling, no device fingerprinting, no session recording, no heat maps. No embedded video, no map iframe and no comment widget. The only third-party resource these pages load at all is the pair of web fonts they are set in.
