Who publishes this site
These pages are published by Belle Rive Casino Hotel, a riverside hotel with a land-based casino floor on its first floor. The site is a description of the property and nothing more: the rooms, the four eating places, the weekly programme, the swimming basin and the Salon Hirondelle. Privacy questions go to [email protected], addressed to the data protection contact.
What this website is not
There is no booking engine on bellerive.com, no guest account to create and no payment page anywhere on it. The site takes no card numbers, no identity documents and no gambling activity of any sort. A room, a table or a place at a Tuesday dinner is arranged by email with reception, outside this website.
What is actually collected
- Nothing, if you only read. Looking at these pages requires you to give us no personal data whatsoever.
- Your two answers. Your age confirmation and your cookie decision are written into your own browser’s local storage. They stay on your device and never travel to us.
- Server records. The company that hosts the site records the IP address, timestamp, requested page and browser string of each request, as every web server does. These records keep the site available and let us see when something is being attacked or is broken.
- Whatever you send us. Write to the address above and your message sits in our mailbox for as long as answering it properly takes, plus whatever record a booking leaves behind.
Analytics and advertising
With your consent, and only then, we load Google Analytics 4 and Google advertising tags. They count visits, show which pages are actually read and tell us whether people who click one of our advertisements go on to look at the rooms or write to reception. Both write cookies and pass a narrow set of events back to Google.
Until you answer the cookie tray, every consent category is set to denied in the page head, before any tag can run. In that state the tags store nothing and read nothing. Choosing Essential only keeps them there permanently. No name, email address or document number is ever passed to an advertising platform.
The lawful basis for each of those
- Consent — covers the analytics and advertising tags. Refuse them at the tray, or change your mind about them afterwards.
- Legitimate interest — for hosting records, and for keeping the site up and secure.
- Contract and steps before a contract — for handling an enquiry about a room, a table or a private event.
- Legal obligation — where accounting, tax or safety rules oblige us to keep a record for a set period.
How long it is kept
Hosting records are held for twelve months and then overwritten. Email about a stay is kept for three years from the last message in the thread, after which the thread is deleted. The two browser values live on your device until you clear your browser storage; we cannot delete them for you, and we cannot read them either.
Who else sees it
Our hosting company, our email provider, and — with your consent only — Google, for analytics and advertising measurement. We do not sell personal data, and we pass nothing to third parties for their own marketing. Some of these suppliers run infrastructure outside the country where the hotel stands; where that is the case, the transfer relies on the standard contractual clauses published by the European Commission.
What you can ask us to do
- Tell you what we hold about you, and send you a copy of it.
- Correct something that is wrong.
- Delete what you have sent us, where no legal duty requires us to keep it.
- Object to a particular use, or ask us to restrict it while a question is settled.
- Withdraw cookie consent, by reopening at the foot of any page.
- Complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live.
Write to [email protected] and you will have an answer within a month, usually much sooner.
Children
These pages are written for adults, since the casino room they describe starts at 18. Nothing here is aimed at children and we do not knowingly hold data about one. Tell us if you believe a child has written to us and the message is deleted inside the week.
Changes to this policy
Any change to this policy moves the review date printed above. Substantial changes are announced on the entry page for a month as well. The Cookie Policy names every storage key and cookie one by one.
